This walking tour of the landmarked Alvin Johnson / J.M. Kaplan Hall at 66th west 12th Street will introduce participants to the building's rich performing arts history — as the Studio Theatre, home of Erwin Piscator's Dramatic Workshop, and home to many notable concerts, dance performances, plays and historic lectures, this building has played an important role in the history of the performing arts in America since 1931. Learn about the world-changing artists and thinkers who called The New School home.
This walking tour will be led by faculty member Jerzy Gwiazdowski.Â
